The information here is based on the experience of the blogger. It is not advice or a recommendation for any security. Investing money involves risk. Assess your own financial situation to determine if you can afford to risk money with trading or investing. This is educational information only!

This article is about investing money in stocks and crypto currency. Individuals who decide to get involved with investing should do their own due diligence to find securities/stocks/companies to invest your money. While doing research, be aware that there are numerous blogs, services, newsletters, financial planners, brokers, professional services, etc., who claim to have the “secret” to success in the markets. They present analysis and charts purporting to gain signals that are passed on to you about when to buy a stock or coin and when to sell it. There are even different markets presented, which is a place where buyers and sellers gather to do the transaction. The US Stock Market is one example, but there are also international markets or foreign exchanges. You will usually get offered a free newsletter or access to a platform that contains basic content about which stocks or coins to buy. Once you sign up, they have your email address where you are now the target of their advertisements for paying a fee to upgrade to access the premium content.

The premium services is usually where the so called “experts” will tell you which stocks to buy and sell or help in building a portfolio. People who are new to trading are the prime targets for this expert advice. They often fall for the games and scams that are rampant on the Internet. Individuals have reported paying $900 to $1000 for premium services only to get offered even more premium services for different kinds of trading like options, covered calls, spreads, etc., that would make them a millionaire in a short period of time! With one popular service, each time that you upgrade, you are advised to upgrade to another service that is supposed to be even better than the one that you just paid for, as well as the opportunity to pay thousands of dollars for a “lifetime” membership. With these particular services, it appeared that a group of individuals had formed a company where each one was an expert with years of trading experience for a specific service that was offered. Once an individual purchased the service of one expert, the service from the next expert was offered, and so on until if not careful, the new investor has purchased a service from every expert on the team. Members participate in monthly or weekly conference calls and are given the opportunity to ask the experts questions about the service or specific securities that the experts are recommending. They offer Master Classes on trading to entice members from one service to consider also joining the other services, all for a fee! Oh, they make it look good! During these classes or informational calls there are always members on the phone who claim to be making a lot of money through one service or the other.

People beware! If you buy into these services, there will be times when through sheer luck you will actually make a few dollars based on the signals and advice provided by the people who operate these services. However, the majority of the time you will lose money! These services are not just about buying and holding securities. The experts are gambling in the markets hoping that a trade will pay off. They don’t know any more about the direction of the markets than you do. They have monetized education, similar to what this article provides. The big difference is that this information is for the sake of warning you not to fall for the expert/professional games. Besides, the donation that you make here is much cheaper than the price that you would pay for premium material that is available online for free!

Cryptocurrency and Forex (eyes rolled!!!) There are professional thieves online pushing services and platforms designed to steal your money. They all make it look good and sound good because they know that there is a new sucker looking to get involved with trading these securities every day! In your quest to get rich, don’t become the next sucker. Google Forex trading and there are all kinds of hits to sites and social media platforms with “professionals” who say that they will “teach” you how to trade. Send your money to one of these independent brokers and they will sign you up to trade on their recommended platform which is usually a fake site. They have different levels of plans where you would want to invest to make a lot of money quick. These plans can range from a minimum investment of $1000 to a maximum of $25,000 with a seven day minimum payout. Once you send the money to the broker for him/her to register you, the money indeed begins growing almost immediately. It doubles overnight off of the broker’s expert signals trading on the platform. There is one big problem, though!

As the investor has gotten excited about the growth of this money, they are ready to withdraw it to their bank account, right? Here is the problem, for the brokers to withdraw the money for you, you will need to pay them a 20% to 30% broker fee. Not only has the broker pocketed your initial investment, which you will never see again, but now he is so greedy that he wants more of your money. When you send him the broker fee, he will ask for more money to double your investment because his expert signals say that you are about to triple the money that is showing in your fake account. Finally several thousand dollars later the lies from the broker begin to sound so absurd that the investor realizes that he/she has been scammed. Unfortunately because the crooked broker insisted on you sending the investment capital in crypto to a special wallet, there is no way for the brokerage account that you used to send the money to trace where the money went. You cannot get it back. It is gone for good! Do not fall for these scams!

How does one invest in the stock market and cryptocurrency? Do the work to educate yourself about the best online stock brokers and platforms for investing money. There is an abundance of free information at all of the major brokers like TDAmeritrade, Fidelity, Robinhood, eTrade, CoinBase, WeBull, and even CashApp when trading crypto. These platforms offer enough free educational content to teach you and advise you on how to get started on investing. Understand that there is a difference between trading and investing. Don’t try to predict the market by trading the riskier options, instead invest for long-term growth. Everything that you need to know about investing is right at your fingertips on the World Wide Web. Finally, don’t become the next sucker!

The information provided in this article is intended to bring awareness about the dangers and risks involved with transacting money. Use it to protect yourself from online scams!
